Hoggs Farm, Barn Conversion and New Homes, Essex
Project Specifics
This project involved the meticulous conversion of two adjoining agricultural barns into five bespoke residential units.
This ‘change of use’ transformation injected new life into the historic and disused rural site, blending contemporary design with rustic charm while preserving the architectural integrity of the original farm structures.
To reflect the traditional aesthetics of the countryside setting, the external facade was upgraded with high-quality brick slips and black featheredge weatherboarding, evoking a classic barn appearance while providing enhanced durability. The roof was replaced with a corrugated metal finish, sympathetic styling to the recognise the agricultural heritage of the property while offering modern and stylish weather resistance.
In addition to the barn conversions, the surrounding land underwent a change of use to accommodate parking and amenity spaces for the five new residential units. Thoughtful landscaping was integrated, providing functional and visually appealing outdoor spaces that complement the rural environment and enhance the overall living experience for residents.
This project demonstrates a seamless blend of historic architecture with contemporary living. It is testament to our joint commitment with the Developer to preserve the unique character of rural properties while meeting modern residential needs. The result is a visually stunning development that offers heritage charm and modern convenience, whilst delivering excellent kerb appeal and superb return on investment.
