Facelift for Detached House

Project Specifics

Residential Extensions

This property was 1950’s style house, which had been added to over time and was cramped and dark. The house is on a very large plot with large detached houses surrounding it. The clients wanted to drastically change the house and make it fit for use for the next 50 years.

The proposals included demolishing the existing garage and single storey elements, and construction a large two storey side and rear extension, as well as a front feature gabled entranced, which was to be mainly glass. A large detached double garage was also proposed. The proposals created a very large open plan kitchen, living, dining area to the rear, with lots of bi-folding doors. On the first floor, two new bedrooms were added both with en-suite. A new double height entrance feature was also created to make the house stand out.

The house was originally brick with some plastic boarding and boring plain tiles. The proposal meant that all of this was to be changed. White rendered walls to the ground floor and light grey Cedral boarding to the first floor and gables and slate tiles to the roof. All new windows were also proposed with dark grey sash style windows were to be installed all around the property. The property is being extended and altered now, and we can’t wait to see it finished.
