Project Brief
To improve access by installing a lift shaft.
Undertake internal alterations to modernise facilities.
Design and construct a two-storey front extension to enhance the Performing Arts Centre. (PAC)
Challenges
Challenge 1:
The school required the new entrance and lift to be seamlessly integrated with the existing building while ensuring functional enhancements to accommodate accessibility needs.
Our Solution:
We created an efficient design that optimised spatial flow while adhering to the aesthetic character of the school. Collaborated with the structural engineer to design a compact and robust lift shaft that met accessibility standards without compromising the building’s visual appeal.
Challenge 2:
Enhancing the Performing Arts Centre (PAC) While minimising disruption Adding a two-storey extension to an active school environment posed logistical challenges, including safety, noise management, and maintaining educational activities.
Our Solution:
We worked closely with the contractor to phase construction activities, minimising disruption to school operations. Designed the PAC extension with modern materials and acoustics, enhancing performance capabilities without compromising
the school’s traditional character.
