This project was an infill development within an existing conservation area in the centre of the village. The existing site was a residential site consisting of a bungalow set within a row of residential houses.  Two years later, now stands a collection of three new dwellings, a pair of semi-detached houses and one detached house, together with the appropriate on-site parking and gardens.

From the outset, it has been important that we consider the look of properties so that they blend in well with the neighbouring properties. There were certain constraints on-site, such as concerns over access, parking and the protection of a TPO tree in the front garden. Our team of experienced architects have successfully overcome each issue during the planning stage to obtain approval for our client.

The houses have been designed to fit within the setting in the Conservation Area, with the houses picking up references to the neighbouring properties.  For example, the pair of semi-detached cottages have gable ends to match the properties on the righthand side of the front elevation.

The detached house is also similar in brickwork, with a projecting brick plinth at low level, and a jettied first floor with a rendered gable and timber-framed porch canopy.  It has a gabled roof to pick up references from the adjoining brick cottages.

These three good sizes homes, each offer a living area to the front and an open plan kitchen, living and dining area to the rear with bi-folding doors to the garden. On the first floor, there are three good sized bedrooms with an ensuite off the master bedroom.  A loft studio room was created to create additional space for future occupiers.
