New House to Replace an Existing Bungalow

Project Specifics

New Housing

MP Chartered Architects drew up plans and gained planning permission to demolish and build a new house on the site of a bungalow.  The practice worked with the clients to design a new home that blended in with the surrounding area and took advantage of the views of the meadow.

A key feature of the property is the oak cladding which the clients wished to leave untreated so that, over the course of time, it will lighten.

From the front, the house looks like a traditional country house, however, the rear affords a more contemporary design.  Taking advantage of the sheltered site, the back of the house has large areas of glass which enables uninterrupted views of the meadow and countryside.
